About
We help teams get found on the App Store and Google Play
Knockplum exists for one reason: to give companies and developers the store data they need to improve their presence on the App Store and Google Play. Rankings, keyword search, search volume, metadata, and featuring — delivered as an API, priced by credit.
The problem we started with
Store search decides who gets found. Roughly two-thirds of App Store downloads and well over half on Google Play begin with someone typing a phrase. That makes ranking visibility and keyword demand acquisition inputs, not side metrics.
The data behind that work has been priced for enterprises and locked inside dashboards. If you run ASO at a small company, an agency, or on your own app, you end up copy-pasting numbers out of a UI you pay four figures a year for — or guessing. We write about the practical side of this in our ASO guides.
What we do about it
We built the layer underneath instead of another suite. One API key returns live category rankings, keyword search results, search volume, app metadata, App Store featuring, and autocomplete suggestions across both stores. The same key works from a script, a spreadsheet job, or an AI agent over MCP.
You pay for what you call. $1 buys 100 credits, credits stay on your balance until you use them, and every response tells you which fields are store facts and which are estimates. Request shapes, credit costs, and error formats are in the API documentation.
Who we are
A small independent team based in Portugal. We are not venture-funded and not trying to become a platform. We would rather be the data layer other tools and teams build on than sell you a login you open twice a month.
We are not affiliated with Apple Inc. or Google LLC. Everything we collect comes from public storefront surfaces, and we say so plainly.
Exact and modeled, always labeled
Store facts are read live and marked exact. Estimates are marked modeled. Nobody should discover which is which by being wrong in a client report.
You are not the product
We do not sell customer data, and we do not resell what you query. The business model is credits, and it stays that way.
Pricing you can read in one line
$1 buys 100 credits. Lookups cost 2, search-type calls cost 10. No seat licenses, no annual minimum, no call with sales.
Support from the people who wrote it
Email lands with the team that ships the endpoints. If data looks wrong, we would rather hear it early than read about it later.
And the name
A knock tells you whether the fruit is ripe. That is roughly what a rank check does. We know how it sounds, we picked it anyway, and the domain was available.
